Welcome to the future! If you ever wondered how the foods are like in my world, this is the place for you. I spent a decent chunk of my writing process trying to figure out how the culture in my world would look like, which includes food and drinks (and most importantly, ALCOHOL) So let's get into it...

-SALISBURY STEAKS!

In the novel I'm currently writing, it opens up with the scene at the Salisburyland Bar & Grill restaurant, where Bob sits in the counter and orders a beer and a yakitori. Salisbury steaks are a staple food in the Belt. They're basically Japanese style hamburg steaks but made with slop instead of actual meat. (meat substitute like soy mixed with chemicals and vegetable chunks) I got the inspiration for this from living in Japan for the past 1+ years, and yes, I ate an ungodly amount of Salisbury steaks because I see it EVERYWHERE. From family restaurants, cafeterias, convenience store bentos, to salisbury steak restaurants.. I once had salisbury steak for three days straight. This type of salisbury steaks were a belter staple food because they are inexpensive and is close to affordable ‘meat’ they can get (substitute meats don’t taste good when grilled like bbqs, so this is the way meat actually tastes decent.
